ThinkNinja

ThinkNinja is free for Young People who have been referred to Healios by their local NHS Children's Service.

Following an NHS referral to Healios, you will be able to log in to ThinkNinja using your Healios account username and password, and from there your Healios clinician will be able to guide you through the app so that you can make the most of all the great content within it. ThinkNinja will still be there to support you after you have finished your journey with Healios.

If you are not accessing Healios services then unfortunately you will not be able to use our app.

ThinkNinja is designed for children and young people (10-18 years old) to help educate about mental health and emotional wellbeing. ThinkNinja also helps children and young people learn and develop a range of skills for when they are experiencing daily life stresses or who may be feeling anxious or low in their mood.

As soon as you open ThinkNinja, you’ll meet me...Wise Ninja!! I’m your very own personal guide to help you learn about mental health on your journey of ups and downs with mood. If you’re feeling low, stressed or anxious, I have lots of cool and fun ideas and skills that you can learn and try. You’ll learn ways about how to feel healthier and happier through knowledge and skills which will stay with you forever. I’m also a motivator to help you build the courage to try new skills and to make changes in your daily life. This is all done in a really fun and interactive way!

We can set some goals and I’ll help you track your progress as well as your mood and provide useful tips for stressful situations such as exams. You can talk with me about how you’re feeling and from there I can help guide you! I’m around whenever you need me, day and night.

Here are some examples of why you might like to talk to me:

* If you’re feeling stressed, worried or anxious about things in life such as relationships, exams, going out seeing friends or shopping

* If you’re feeling low, tired and negative about yourself or life

* If you’re having unhelpful thoughts that stop you from enjoying life such as “something bad is going to happen” or “they think I’m stupid” or “what if they don’t like me” or “I’m going to fail if I do this”

* If you have physical symptoms such as fast heart rate, shaky hands, wobbly legs when you are in certain situations that make you nervous or anxious

Now for the technical stuff...

ThinkNinja is aimed at young people aged 10 to 18 years of age. ThinkNinja was created by child mental health psychologist experts with help from young people to make sure the content, skills and how we talk about mental health and mood are just right and fun to use.

ThinkNinja is built on therapy-based techniques called cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) and motivational interviewing. CBT has been proven in many clinical studies around the world to help deal with anxiety and low mood. ThinkNinja also contains other really useful techniques for mental health and emotional wellbeing such as mindfulness meditation and relaxation techniques.
